Learn when your coverage begins and when it ends

When coverage begins

  • If you are a newly-hired employee and you enroll within 30 days of your hire date, your coverage will begin on the first of the month coinciding or following your date of hire

  • If you have a qualifying status change and you enroll within 30 days, your coverage will begin on the first of the month coinciding or following the date of the qualified status change

When coverage ends

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage ends on the last day of the month in which you are no longer eligible 

  • Life, AD&D, short‐term disability and long‐term disability coverage ends on the date you are no longer eligible 

  • Health Savings Account, Health Flexible Spending Account, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account expenses are reimbursed for services incurred up to the date you are no longer eligible

  • Commuter benefit expenses are reimbursed for services incurred up to the date you are no longer eligible
